advocacy -- active support of an idea or cause etc.; especially the act of pleading or arguing for something
We love to partner and support organizations that provide opportunities for advocacy and create advocates. The WORD team clearly recognizes the role advocacy in our mission of conquering gynecologic cancer. Advocacy is the catalyst to more funding for gynecologic cancer research. Advocates encourage more scientists to look at creating new gynecologic cancer research protocols and advocates create awareness among women about gynecologic cancer.
For this reason WORD finds it very important to support other organizations that find advocacy to be part of the core of their mission. We hope in years to come to expand our support regional and national events. In the last few weeks we have been able to attend and/or support multiple ovarian cancer run/walks. Here are a few highlight videos of some of the run/walks. Thanks to all who are advocates. Thanks to all who create advocates. We are so thankful to work together with you!
