Biospecimen resources (commonly referred to as “tissue banks”) are critical to the cancer research community. High quality biospecimens contain the data necessary to understand cancer on a molecular level. For over a decade, researchers associated with WORD have collected clinically annotated tissue specimens from patients with gynecologic cancers.
To assure the highest possible biospecimen quality, we adhere the National Cancer Institute’s “Best Practices for Biospecimen Resources” guidelines. These recommendations outline the standards for biospecimen collection, processing, storage and retrieval.
Our expanding tissue collection will serve as a invaluable resource for researchers working to make advances in gynecologic cancer for years to come.Last Updated on Thursday, 15 July 2010 22:10
